Losing it

Okay so another vent (I told you all to look forward to them). I am having a hard time with all of the overwhelming amount of messages and requests from people who I haven't spoken to in years, or who have never cared to have me be a part of their lives all of a sudden want an invitation to the wedding. I feel like a wedding should be filled with people who have been with Scott and I through it all, and love us as much as we love them. I want family and friends who care about us, and have been supportive. I never expected to receive so many "I better get invited" maybe I should be flattered? or maybe I just need to step up and say NO? right now my approach is no response at all, but that is not seeming to cut it. For now this is my outlet by spewing all of my frustration on here.

Invitation ideas

I am so in love with these :) I have someone who can help design the invite part of it. But will need help with the folded part with the pocket. Any ideas?

Thanksgiving

This years Thanksgiving I am thankful for being able to spend the whole day with such amazing people. I got to bake with Scott's brother Rob's girlfriend Brittney who I adore :) while the boy's played some Mario Kart, and then Scott's wonderful sister Brittney (yeah it gets confusing) came over and took our engagement photo's. Then, it was off to his parent's house for dinner and desert. After spending good quality time with them I picked up my sister Briana, and good friend Jordana for some midnight madness shopping. :) what a LONG but amazing day!

So, for our photo's we had Scott's sister take them, and she did an AMAZING job. We took them at Hendrick's park, and Alton Baker park in Eugene. Here are some of the photo's. I am above and beyond happy with how these turned out :)

Feeling Loved

Today, I am feeling very loved, and supported. I am overwhelmed by all of the support, and help everyone is offering through this process. (and I am more then happy to accept) Just a few day's ago I was feeling very down over just a few people's negativity, and I forgot to look at the bigger picture at all of those who love Scott and I. The one's who are overjoyed, and wanting to be a part of this special chapter in our lives. So to those of you who have offered your helping hand, and lent your encouraging words THANK YOU!!!
and to top off my already AMAZING mood Scott and I got our outfits picked out for our engagement photos!
One more thing off the check off list :)

Nerds

Scott and I are nerds, and we want so have bits and pieces of that in the wedding. But, how much nerd is too much? I am not to fond of theme weddings, but I  do enjoy a little individuality. So I am on the prowl for little subtle ways for us to express this in parts of our wedding. While looking through blog sites and Pinterest I stumbled across this

 * A couple made these into their wedding invitation (from Scott Pilgrim vs. the world)
and.. I know Scott would flip since this is his favorite movie (and what our couples costume was for Halloween) but to me this is too much. I have a feeling this line of too much vs. too little will be a struggle for me.

Engagement Photo's

We having Scott's sister Brittney take our engagement on Thursday and it supposed to rain, and since I like to be prepared for everything I decided to start looking up some ideas and thought I would share

Keeping my spirits up

I find lately that I keep finding myself being very emotional, and I am not liking it to much. I am overjoyed with everyone's love and encouragement, but at the same time I find myself saddened by a lot of people lack of. I shouldn't let those few get me down, but like I said I am an emotional mess. I just want to move past all of the drama that comes with a wedding (everyone warned me, but still not prepared) Scott joked that maybe we should just elope now and not tell anyone, but since I want nothing more then to share this experience with all of my loved ones I could never do that. The thing I find the hardest though is saying no, I just got engaged on Tuesday and already I have handfuls of opinions in my head. I have to remind myself each time I find myself upset that this is mine and Scott's special time, and no lack of support or someone's negative opinion should not bring me down.

Cake

 I am not entirely sure how soon is too soon to start thinking about the cake, but I have a feeling choosing the cake will be my favorite part. I wanted to share a dear friend of mine's facebook page with preview's of the cakes they make, and decorate :) I have plenty of time to think about the kind of cake or what I want the cake to look like, but I can always look at them and drool. A perfect Pinterest find

I am not a huge fan of the brown, but when I saw the S & J I got very excited. I am still trying to decide on any sort of table decor. I know I still have ten months, but I like to plan ahead in case I come up with some elaborate idea that will take some planning, creating, or collecting.

The proposal Story

Ok, so I got home and the house was empty and I went into our room upstairs and found a wooden chest with a note and the note explained how the chest was unfinished like our love will always be and the chest contains mementoes of our life that we will have together. I had to read each step at a time starting with a blank key that will be etched for our dream home, and ending with caramel candy to give to our grandkids, and then a ring box with a note telling me to go downstairs were he was waiting on one knee =)

Hello, so this is my first blog. I just got engaged yesterday, and my fiance's (hehe still feels weird) sister blogged all of her wedding experiences and planning. I just loved following her on there, and thought it would be fun! So here we go..
